JANE
BREWER OF KAWG&F IS APPOINTED BY
GOVERNOR EHRLICH TO
THE MARYLAND COMMISSION
ON AGING
BALTIMORE (November 8, 2006)—Katz,
Abosch, Windesheim, Gershman & Freedman,
P.A. (KAWG&F), a regional public accounting
and consulting firm headquartered in Timonium,
Maryland, is pleased to announce that Jane
Brewer, CPA, MST has been appointed a commissioner
of the Maryland Commission on Aging.
The Maryland Commission on Aging, comprised
of 13 members, serves as an advisory board
to the Department of Aging. Working with
the Governor, the Commission examines issues
of importance to aging residents in Maryland
in order to develop solutions. As an appointed
member of the Commission, Brewer accepted
her oath of office on October 23, 2006
, and will serve the remainder of a four
year term which began July 1, 2005 .
Brewer, a shareholder at KAWG&F,
co-chairs the firm’s Tax Department
in addition to providing clients with accounting
and tax services. Brewer is very active
in professional and civic organizations.
She frequently speaks with large groups
about issues pertaining to tax strategies
and writes for various publications. In
2006, Brewer was awarded the “Women
in Business Champion of the Year” by
the U.S. Small Business Association and
she was recognized as a “2006 Smart
CPA” by Baltimore SmartCEO Magazine.

Brewer is a graduate of the University
of Baltimore where she earned a Masters
of Science in Taxation. She is a member
of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants and the Maryland Association
of Certified Public Accountants. She has
served on the board of Commercial Real
Estate Women, The Children’s Guild,
Inc., National Association of Women Business
Owners, and the Rotary Club of Towsontowne.
