Regional public accounting and consulting firm appoints

Stephen Cupit, CPA and Michael Gentry, CPA

Baltimore, MD —KAWG&F, P.A. Certified Public Accountants and Consultants is pleased to announce that Stephen Cupit and Michael Gentry have been named shareholders of the firm. Based in Timonium with additional offices in Bel Air and Columbia , the firm provides public accounting and consulting services for closely-held businesses and individuals throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Steve Cupit joined KAWG&F in 1980 having achieved the designation as a Certified Public Accountant in 1975. As a manager at the firm, Cupit specializes in business tax and financial planning, retirement planning, payroll and benefit planning, management advisory services and business computer advisory services. He heads the firm’s Business Services Group and also serves in the Medical Practices Group. Cupit earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting at Towson University and a Masters in Taxation at the University of Baltimore . In 2004, he earned the designation of Certified Specialist in Retirement Planning (CSRP). Cupit is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). Since 1993, he has served on the Towson Business Association’s Board of Directors and served as the organization’s Treasurer. He has earned two awards during his tenure with the Towson Business Association—first in 2003 when he received the Board of Directors Award and in 2004 when he was honored with the Hall of Fame Award.

Mike Gentry joined KAWG&F in 1998 and is a member of the firm’s Construction and Real Estate Services Group. He provides management advisory services for closely-held businesses, as well as tax planning services for both business and individual clients. Gentry earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Frostburg State University and earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant in 1998. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), Harford County Chamber of Commerce and Harford County Contractor Association. Gentry is based in the firm’s Bel Air office and works with clients throughout the entire region.
